Small irregular shapes

in the jet cutting window, there is an option for starting in the centre of small circles. this only works for circles and not small irregular shapes. is this correct or am i doing something wrong?

I believe it only works on circles.

do you know if there is any means of doing so with irregular shapes? something that is too small or misshapen for a leadin, like a rounded triangle or 4 leaf clover?

update: I should have qualified my earlier reply with…
As an alternative to relying on sheetcam to recognize a shape as a perfect circle and thus start the leadin in the middle per the option selection, you can experiment with these techniques…

Experiment with adjusting ‘Start point tool clearance’, see this post - Tight corners and start point clearance %

2nd, consider putting all these irregular small shapes into a separate layer and cut them with a very short or long leadin shape of your choice.

3rd, if its just an occasional shape behaving like this, you can edit individual start points by using menu Mode / ‘Edit start points’, then right click on the start point and select Properties, adjust the leadin as you see fit.

I’ve tried your third suggestion, but still couldn’t get it to work.I didn’t want the lead in to be shorter than the kerf width.

I will take a look at Start point clearance. Thank you very much for that.

Been playing around with different ideas. Is there any way to apply the “start at centre of small holes” as a path rule? All of the circle options just seem to relate to feed rate.

Thank you.
