Here’s a test case to demo at least two somewhat common use cases of toolpath cut quality concerns for plasma process.
-
Path rules for ‘On inside corners’ , ‘tighter than’ deg , at a distance before, do something. Do something is usually slow down and/or THC OFF before, then resume tool def speed and/or THC ON after. The tighter the turn (inside corner), the more likely the plasma kerf will overlap before and after toolpaths, so the more likely you’ll want a longer action trigger distance.
See also this thread which explains the rule (not a bug)- Path rule bug (on inside corners) ??? -
‘Start point tool clearance’- this is a setting in menu Options-‘Application options’-Advance tab. The value is the percentage kerf which becomes the clearance to allow between the center of the start point and the center line of any nearby toolpath, applied when optimizing (auto generate) the start points. This ensure the pierce and dross blow are clear of nearby toolpaths if that is important to you. A larger percentage such as 400% pretty much ensures you don’t have to manually move optimized start point placements due to the condition described.
