Rotary plasma trial

I am in the process of rebuilding / upgrading my plasma and have been considering adding support for a tube cutter capable of cutting RHS / SHS.

My current workflow consists of Fusion directly to my DDCS controller, but adding 4 axis support to Fusion is an extra $2k a year, so I’m looking at alternatives.

SheetCam Rotary plasma seems to fit my needs and price point, but I would like the opportunity to take it for a test drive before committing.

I have set up a trial of sheetcam in a VM (I use mac) but it appears that the rotary plasma component is disabled

Is there a trial version available?

Anyone know if there’s a rotary plasma trial?

crickets

Is this product actively supported??

emailed sales@sheetcam.com a week ago no response, posted here 4 days ago, no response.

If I use this software in a production environment do you actually offer any kind of support or will my shop stop for a week whilst I wait for a response???

@Sheetcam-Support

Unfortunately support seems to have dropped off since Les sold the company. Very sad as SheetCam is a great product. I wish you luck.

djreiswig, thanks for letting me know. much appreciated. I was unaware of this. It did seem strange that support seemed very active in the threads that I viewed. Definitely a factor. So I think I’ll give sheetcam a miss.

In the interim I’ve gone some way towards making a solution in fusion using the sheetmetal functionality. I think I may be able to translate the corner radius moves in the post processor. Otherwise I can do this externally using a custom script. Just need to se the RHS dimensions and look for X values that fall within the corner radius area for the unfolded component.

Some extra work, but at least I’m not reliant on non-existant support.

Once again. thanks. Much appreciate the response.

this is sad, the quick support/responses was one of my main drives when i bought into sheetcam

I’ve reached out to sheetcam management to see if the customer support desk can be restored to a more responsive help-request handling model.

Since you bowed out, I don’t think there’s ever been much of a support model at all. It’s almost like they bought SheetCam to kill it, but I didn’t know they had a competing product.
