If you ever feel compelled to reset Sheetcam to factory settings because behavior is odd or otherwise screwed up, simply deleting and reinstalling sheetcam WILL NOT accomplish that 99% of the time. Even in the 1% case that reinstalling may help correct a bad situation, you will first have to do the following…
- launch sheetcam, goto menu Help / ‘Open settings folder’. This will open a Win or linux file manager window into the settings system folder. Leave that window open.
- close sheetcam.
- in the file manager window, rename the *.ini file to *.ini.old, and the *.ini.bak file to *.ini.bak.old
- ok to now close the file manager window, it is independent of sheetcam operation.
- launch sheetcam. upon startup, sheetcam will present the setup wizard dialogue just as if you had initially (first time on a computer) installed it.
- note- if you have plugin license keys, you will need to retrieve the key values from the old ini file, just edit it with any text editor to find them, the tags are man-readable. Now in sheetcam menu Options / ‘Plugin options’, re-enable your plugin(s) with the correct key(s).
- your sheetcam license file IS NOT affected by the resetting of the ini file, no action needed for the license file.
