Tangential knife cut squares - odd start to each side cut

I have a Masso G3 controller, and an using the Masso Tangential 4 PP to cut test squares. The squares were using F360, and the sketch exported as a DXF file to SheetCam. I am using a contour milling operation with no offset.

I notice that the cut of each of the four sides of the square are not in line with the rest of the cut. It looks like the knife starts a fraction of a mm out of line then turns in. This only happens at the start - please see attached photo -

.

I have just finished building my tangential knife and it is working well.
I am new to SheetCam, and am hoping someone can identify this as a common issue with a solution I can implement. I tried an initial search in the forum but did not find any information that to me seemed relevant.

Thank you,

Tom

I have solved the problem. When initially setting up the cutter, I aligned the blade by eye to the correct orientation once zeroed by the encoder index. It turns out I was off by a little less than 1mm. I am using a box cutter style blade in this prototype cutter, which made it easier to use a square and straight edges to more accurately align the blade. Once corrected the cuts are as expected. I believe what I saw happening was the result of the blade entering the material at a very slight angle, but once it started moving through the material, the forces aligned it along its proper path.

Ah yes, that would do it. Even a very small misalignment of the blade will cause problems.
