Tabs not on cut-path

Hi there,

I noticed that tabs are always placed on the contour.
When you have a no-offset operation that’s fine, but with inside- and outside-offsets this gives a wrong visual feedback.

The next image show three times the same contour.
The left has an inside offset.
The middle has no offset.
The right has an outside offset.

I suggest the following changes:

  1. Make the tabs appear on the actual tool-path, not just on the contour
  2. Make clear where the tool goes up/down e.g. with a different-color, so the actual tab-length is better visible.
  3. To keep it simple discard the lead-in/out angles.

Hopefully the following image says more then the above description:

Very curious what other users think of this.

Sorry, for the delay. I missed this post. The problem is that placing tabs is independent of the tool paths. The offsets and tool paths are only generated after you have placed the tabs. Basically at the point the tabs are drawn, SheetCam doesn’t know where the offsets are.
