Sheetcam TNG Estimate Function

When I try and run the estimate function on the program I get an error saying insufficent memory.

The computer is only running sheetcan and Mach3 Everything esle has been turned off. The coumputer has 2GB and is running windows xp

For running xp with two gigs and nothing else running there should be plenty of memory to open the estimate function.

Anyone else had any problems with this, got any solutions.

Thanks,

Brian

That is a new one on me. What happens if you try to run estimate onn a blank job?

I think I tried this but cant remember for sure. I believe that the small window comes up fine, it thinks summary vs full view.

I tried some very small items like a 4 inch circle and still had the same problem.?

I will try running it on a blank page again to be sure.

Hello,

Ok tried it today.

I have a simple design up and I click the estimate button small window comes up and has the option of full or summary view. Does not matter which I pick. When I click the ok button I get the message:

“Sorry not enough memory to create a preview”

I’m running windows xp with 1GB of ram 770 mb free when I attempt this no other programs running.

Also tried it on blank job same thing.

I did some more investigating and it appears that the preview creates a bitmap image of the page it wants to display. For some reason it is unable to allocate the space for that image. Turn on Help->debug log and try creating a report. Do any error messages show up in the log?

Here is the debug report:

Current version of TNG is 3.0.11

I had hoped to see some sort of clue in there but it all looks fine. I am clutching at straws here but it could be a problem with your display driver. Are there any new updates available for your display driver?

I will give that a try when the shop opens back up after Christmas and let you know. thanks

Pardon me for butting in, but were do I find “estimate”? Ie is there a function that will tell me approximately how long a job will take? We are not talking about “simulation” are we?

It is the button next to the post processor. The one that looks like a notepad with a pencil.

Perfect! Thanks!!

I tried working with the display driver and everything is up to date. No conflicts showed up anywhere either.

Do you have any other ideas on what could be causing this problem?

I have not found anyone else with this problem I seem to be the only lucky one.
