Before I post the question I should give some background on my workflow. I use a windows PC and Inkscape or Fusion 360 to generate SVG and DXF files. I often use a windows (trial) version of Sheetcam to test the files and make sure the files will cut properly. Then I transfer the DXF or SVG files to my linux PC and open them in Sheetcam for plasma cutting.
The problem I have is that often the files work fine on my windows PC Sheetcam, but not on my linux machine’s Sheetcam, and vice versa. Please see attached photos.
With this particular file, the SVG renders properly in windows and the DXF renders properly in linux, but sometimes files don’t render properly either way and I have to do some hoop jumping with the file to get it render properly.
The DXF renders with the large circles on Sheetcam for Windows version 7.09. The SVGs render with some parts missing and some added in Linux version 6.1.57. 5X10FP layout.dxf (493 KB)
I meant it should work on either version.
I think Les is flexible on the licenses for small one man operations. I’ve read a few places where he’s okay with you using it on a second computer. You could always email him to check.
