Running Sheetcam 6.1.50 under Suse Leap 42.3 64 Bit in case that makes any difference.
I have had a problem with I believe the last few versions that I can not see the check boxes within tabs or see items such as the Simulator speed control.
So it is difficult to determine which rules I have set, etc. the help text that can pop out when over a button is not seen or if there at all is like a goast outline of the text.
I have tried an install on another Linix PC with the same results.
I do not seem to be able to use Wine or/and Mono to run Sheetcam.exe So I am getting a bit stuck.
Can you help, it does not show any error messages so I am a bit lost what to do.
I have been doing some experimenting. Are you using KDE or Gnome? In KDE the problem appears to be that the default ‘Breeze’ GTK2 theme is really messed up. In the Application menu go to Settings->System settings->Application style->Gnome application style(GTK). Change the GTK2 theme to Raleigh and hit Apply. SheetCam should now work properly.
I’m not sure where the settings are in Gnome. Let me know if you are using Gnome and I’ll try to find them.
Les, not sure if you would remember this, but after a 4 year away from sheetcam and any plasma cutting I am trying to return. the problem above under linux has returned, I am now using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS which is I believe a Gnome desktop, and again the icons have disappeared when viewing things.
Just wondering if you have seen anything similar?
Adrian
Hi Les;
I am running Ubuntu 22.04.1 not that sure what versions they are. Gnome is version 42, so I would assume GTK4. The theme is called Yaru. The drop downs, say the one to select machine type rotary or jet do not show the check boxes. None of them do.
With regards trying to contact you via the forum there is a contact admin on the login page, there was no other option I could find.
I am away from the pc for a few days back Sunday evening, so perhaps from then I can assist more in fault finding?

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
sheetcamtng : Depends: libreadline7 but it is not installable

May be getting myself tied in knots here, but I found in another thread a libreadline7.zip which I unzipped and installed with
sudo apt install ./libreadline7_7.0-3_amd64.deb
Then I retried sheetcam 7.1.20
sudo apt install ./SheetCamTNG_7.1.20-1_amd64.deb
This seemed to install. But when I click on the icon to run sheetcam it crashes out, I have clicked to send in a report so hope that helps.
I am now for the time being trying to remove the two packages.
If SheetCam asked you to send a report it should have asled you to save a file which you can email to me. It may have been the operating system that asked if you wanted to send a report, in which case I will never see it.
I don’t see anyhting obvious in the data you’ve given me but if you send me the whole cr4ash dump I may be able to figure out a bit mroe about what is going on.
