update: v2-6, fix for “First pierce delay delta +/- secs” logic handling while fooling around with sheetcam’s wiggle pierce style.
Wiggle pierce btw will force pierce delay to be zero while that tool is in use. This is to put G1 XY motion (wiggle distance) to work immediately without delay, and rather have the piercing occur during the back and forth wiggle dance, to keep the nozzle a moving target for blow back piercing dross. This is useful on thick material. The wiggle dance cyclical motion is a factor of the plunge rate, the wiggle size (distance), and for a duration of approx the defined pierce delay. It will be a plenty long time for piercing since XY acceleration/decel is not factored into the formula, meaning in reality the XY speed of the wiggle dance is going to be much slower than the plunge rate. And I get it, the plunge rate is for Z, but its the feedrate for XY as well in the leadin motion. This is all done by sheetcam, not in the pp, as the formula translates to ‘wiggle dance’ motion expressed in gcode.
I’ll try to write some more on pierce styles Ramp and Wiggle in a few days in a new thread in this forum. The sheetcam help on these topics is not sufficient, we’ll try to fix that in our next release.
