I am trying to get the right post process for my machine. I have added a scribe and the post process that I was using does not work with a scribe. I was trying to use the mach3 plasma THC with scriber and backlash compensation. The problem that I have with that post is that at the end of the scribe line it will not turn off the scribe and goes back to home position with the scribe still down and running. If I put a second scribe line it will turn off the scribe between scribes but not at the end of the operation. When putting a plasma operation after a scribe operation then it tries to turn on the plasma instead of the scribe for the scribe operation. Is there any post processes for plasma, THC, and scribe?

Do you need backlash comp? If not I’d recommend the ‘Mach3 THC with scriber’ post.

Here is the G Code using the thc with scriber. It is better but it has M05 to end plasma instead of M09 to stop scribe before switching to the plasma operation.

Give this a try. To install this post, save the attachment to any convenient folder on your computer then run SheetCam and go to Options->machine->post processor. Click on the ‘Import post’ button. Using the box that appears, navigate to your post and open it. Go back to Options->machine->post processor and make sure your post is selected.

Mach3 THC with scriber.scpost (8.6 KB)

That is the same post that I was using. This is the results I get. It has a M05 instead of M09 on the last scribe line.

I attached the file that I was using to get the code that I sent

After installing the post make sure you select ‘Mach3 THC with scriber (edited)’. You are currently using a different post.

I saved the post as a different name so would not get mixed up with the others then edited my setup info and saved. Then went back in and made sure had the new name edited post selected

I just tested the post here and I am seeing the M9. Could you send me a job file (file->save job) with everything set up ready to cut.

Here is the job file.

test scribe 572020.job (16.2 KB)

I just tested your job and the generated code appears to be correct:

```
N0350 M10
N0360 X4.7059 Y9.1615
N0370 (Operation: Outside Offset, white, T22: 3/8" 65 AMP SHIELDED)
N0380 G00 A0.5037
N0390 M09
N0400 G00 X0.3752 Y0.5001 Z0.5037
N0410 X-0.1660 Y2.3720
N0420 M48
N0430 M10
```

What else could I be doing wrong on my side that would not get the same result as when you run the job

The only way I can see is if you are using the wrong post. Go to Options->machine->post processor and look for function OnPenUp(). The first lines should look like this:

```
function OnPenUp()
if wasTool == "MarkerTool" then
```

If it asys:

```
function OnPenUp()
if toolClass == "MarkerTool" then
```

You definitely have the wrong post.

Can you copy and paste the correct post here so I can check what is different when I get home today if case there is other issues that are getting changed when I save and edit my table settings into it

You can find the post attached earlier in this thread.

When using this post process the torch height control only works intermittently. It is turned on and shows a command to move in Mach 3 but z does not move. So when not using the scribe I use the old post process and it works like should. There there anything can change to get THC to work all the time with this post process?

What post processors are you using?
