PARTS NOT CUTTING ACTUAL SIZE (CNC PLASMA)

Hi
I am having trouble with an ongoing problem since new. I am running Mach 3 with Sheetcam on a cnc plasma. All software came preloaded on a computer so not sure what is wrong. I draw my parts in CAD program, all dimensions are correct, save file, load into SC with the proper layers and material, and lead ins, post process all is good. Load code to Mach 3 and cut the part, but when finished part is done, its way off size. A 4" plain circle with 2- 7/8" holes in the center comes out 3 3/4" on the outside and the center comes out 1/2". I have even tried drawing my parts in different cad program but makes no difference. Any help would be great as to what it could be. Thank You.

First of all, is your machine cutting to size? Manually jog the X axis to one end of it’s travel and zero the X axis DRO. Place a tape measure on the table in line with the chuck then move to the other end of your travel. Does the X axis DRO in Mach agree with your tape measure?

Edit your tool definition and check the kerf width. It should be the same as the kerf (cut width) created by your plasma cutter.

In SheetCam, right-click on teh drawing and slect ‘measure’. Use the measure tool to check your drawing is the right size. If not check in drawing options (the box that appears just after you import a drawing) that your scale factor is set to inch or metric.

Yes the machine is cutting to size according to MDI in both X & Y axis but only on small amounts. Go 1" either direction its fine, Go 6" either direction its 4 1/2". I cut a 6x6 square and its 5 5/8" x 5 5/8" and perfectly square, just the wrong size. I have contacted Mach3 support and its definitely on the Mach 3 side after 2 hours with phone tech the past 2 days. We are down to a problem in xml. file, just waiting now. Thanks for the help and I will post the findings when they figure it out.
