OK so I load a Harley Davidson DXF that is clean all lines are optimized and paths closed, however sheet cam will not recognize the closed paths and puts rapid moves at the lower corners of the letters on the top part and on the top part of the letters on the bottom part. it seems like Sheet cam can not recognize a double inside cut. I would attach a copy of the file but forum will not let me. this is driving me crazy. Les if you could contact my email I could send the file to you directly AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGG!
I just figured some thing out it is putting it on different layers but I have no idea how it is doing it.
They must be on different layers in your drawing. What file format are you using (dxf, svg, hpgl)?
I am using dxf created out of bobcad.
I have to admit I haven’t had any experience with Bobcad. There must be a way to change layers in Bobcad so hopefully you should be able to move things around in your drawing. Otherwise I am afraid you will have to do it in SheetCam.
I figured out how to set the layers pretty easy actually. now here is another problem I am having. when I save the g-code to send to mach it keeps getting saved as Bobcad tap. and not a sheetcam tap. is there a way to prioritize sheet cam? and also when in M3 the drawing appears to be on many different layers on the display despite having the plasma tool set up. Any thoughts.
It looks like Bobcad has registered the .tap file extension to itself. However this should not matter. The file should still load into Mach correctly.
I am not sure why you are seeing the drawing on many different layers in Mach. Can you send me the job file so I can take a look.
