Hi,
I imported a dxf file (drawing) and took it through the normal steps to create a .tap file for plasma cutting but when I applied the tool to be used for the cutting, I got the following message: “No paths were generated. The tool may be too big or there may be a problem with the drawing”.
I have checked the drawing carefully and find nothing wrong (though I may have missed an error). In any case, what is meant by “The tool may be too big…”? and what can I do about this?
Check the size of your drawing. If it is scaled incorrectly you may get this error. Alternatively post a copy of your job file (File->save job) here or email it to me.
Hi Les, thank you. Yes. still getting the error message. I re-checked the drawing and found two nodes on top of each other and deleted one, but I’m still getting the same warning. And I have not attempted to cut pending your comments and advice.
Re-looking at the drawing, I think that the message is as a result of the very fine intricacies of the drawing in some sections, hence the message that a path could not be generated. But I may be wrong. When I zoom in, the tool path (green line) is clearly visible and continuous, so I guess that it is cuttable and will work.
