Les,
Working with SheetcamTNG I am unable to get something measured. I can bring up the measure tool - and it displays the ruler - but, I cannot seem to get any measurements.
When I do the same thing in Sheetcam TNG Development, I receive a right triangle with measurement displayed on all 3 sides.
Maybe it operates differently? Are the distances displayed somewhere else on the screen? If so, I see nothing on the status bar at the bottom of the screen.
ps … using the latest versions of SheetCamTNG 6.0.11 & SheetCamTNG Development 6.1.7.
Help
Are you using the latest version? This sounds like a bug that was fixed a couple of releases ago.
I assume that I am using the latest version. I am using 6.0.11 - and when I click on “Update”, it says “no updates found”
Hmm, that’s odd. Is the development version of SheetCam on the same computer?
Go to Options->application options->Display and enable ‘fast rubberband graphics’ Does that help?
It does not work on my computer either. Also using Version 6.0.11. I get the same thing, a ruler, but no measurements anywhere that I can find.
Did the ‘fast rubberband graphics’ option make any difference?
The fast rubberband graphics made no difference on my computer. I loaded the development version, and the measure function works there.
Well, I tried this out on my shop computer. It’s identical to my house computer, and I keep a copy of sheetcam on it for quick changes when I’m out at the shop. The measure function works fine on it. If I change it to rubber-band graphics, then measure doesn’t work. Same version of sheetcam on both machines.
For what it’s worth, Steve
I don’t mean to hog this thread, just trying to help figure out what is going on. Just on a whim, I changed my house computer back to the way it was (when it didn’t work to begin with) by unchecking the rubber-band graphics check box. The measure function now works. So maybe checking and unchecking the rubber-band graphics box will fix others who are having this problem.
Steve
That’s really strange. I can’t think how turning that feature on then off again would fix the problem.
Joe, could you try switching to fast rubberband mode and if that doesn’t work, switch back. Does measure then work?
Just had the same issue on my machine. I had to -disable- “enable fast rubberband graphics” for the ruler to work. Win7 32bit machine.
