Help with post THC 300

Need some help recently installed floating head. Previously used MACH 3 plasma, the machine cuts fairly well. When I switched to THC 300 I began getting jerky stop and go motion on small turns. Tried reducing acceleration and velocity settings, no change. Tried Dyna 64K no change. Tried adding G64 P0.005 to G-code no change. Any suggestions.

For THC with Mach3 I normally recommend the MP1000-THC-scriber post. You will need to edit the post and set a few parameters at the start of the post. I assume you are using Mach3.

I installed the MP1000-THC-scriber post and I still get stop and go jerky motion on smaller corners. With the MACH 3 plasma post it runs relatively smooth but as soon as I switch posts I get that jerky motion (with no other changes).

Edit the post and change the slowRadius value to 0. Hopefully that should fix it.

Yes I have changed the value to 0, still no change. and previous question I am using MACH 3. Spent all day with numerous acceleration and velocity settings no change.

Could you post a copy of your g-code.

Sorry not getting back to you sooner, was very busy. Here it is now.

Hmm, It looks like the attachment didn’t work. You could email it to me if you prefer.

Try again to add attachment

I’ve tried every setting possible, nothing makes a difference. But I did find occasionally switching posts between Mach 3 plasma and THC 300 occasionally things would all of a sudden function and work perfectly. But now the THC300 post and the MP1000 scriber post I can’t produce a useable file. It either produces an error (radius to end of arch differs from radius to start line) or it produces a file that comes up in MACH3 covered in circles. Don’t know what to do, short of deleted entire program and starting over. Do you have any suggestions?

To get rid of the circles run Mach3 and go to Config->general config. Make sure the I,J mode is set to incremental, not absolute.

I think I found the problem with the THC300 post. Try this version. Save it to any convenient folder on your computer then run SheetCam and go to options->machine->post processor. Clcik on the ‘import post button’. Using the box that appears, navigate to the post and open it. Make sure you have ‘plasma THC300 (edited)’ selected as your post.

Yes in Mach 3 the I J mode was set to absolute, when I switched it everything began to work. Both post work now, but I am using the modified one you sent me. I shut everything down restarted the computer and everything continued working just fine. I can’t thank you enough, I’m not very computer literate and this does supplement my income as I am retired. My little home built machine is working great. Thank you again.
