Help with layers and new parts

Hi there

After adding a new part, is it not at all possible to move say, the holes/inside offset of that new part, to an already created layer?

In otherwards, do I have to create a layer and move the hole to it for every single individual part?

And then do I have to create an operation for every part individually?

I was hoping I could have just 2 operations , one for holes/inside offsets and another for outside contours, and then simply select all of the holes in all of the parts and move them all to one “holes” layer? and keep all outside offsets to layer 0.

I was trying to keep a “job” going for a sheet of 10mm steel, add parts i need to cut out, and un-tick/disable the parts as i cut them out, so I can keep track of where to align the new parts if that makes sense.

Is there a good way of doing this?

cheers

its is possible, see Mode / ‘Edit contours’.

no you don’t. Sheetcam will alternate outside vs. inside kerf offset toopaths for shapes/contours on the same Layer. The Operation offset style you select is in reference to the outer most contour(s) of the Layer, then toolpaths alternate to the other side of the inner contours automatically.

that’s a good idea. Should not be problem to do that.
