Hi all, I recently started to try out sheetcam. I was hoping i could use it for my lasercutting application.

Can i use sheetcam to stop/start the laserbeam, turn the laserbeam off between cuts. As it is now it has one contiunues beam from start to finish when i am cutting out a part.

Manipulating start pattern. I have opned a DXF file and for some reasons it has way to many start points (100+).
Thanks
p.s. if my explanations are not good enough i will repost try to explain better

Yes. Use on of the plasma post processors. The ‘Mach3 plasma’ post is probably the best one to try first.

In SheetCam turn off ‘View->show segment ends’ and turn on ‘View->show path ends’. If you look at your drawing you will probably see quite a number of white dots. If you zoom in on the dots you will probably find that the lines don’t meet up perfectly. You need to fix these in cad. As a quick reference the outlines are colour coded when you load them. Red is outside, yellow is inside and grey indicates the lines are broken.
