dxf Opening Issue... Newb Question.

Hello SC folks. New to the forum…

I am a plasma CNC table guy here.

I use sheetcam to open dxf files. Many I create from Inkscape. Others I receive from My Plasma Spider Brothers and Sisters.

I DID SEARCH FIRST BEFORE POSTING… :smiley:

My issue is opening a dxf files. Some, but not all. Dialog box says reading file and then locks up…

Size doesnt appear to be issue. 300 or 400 kb files open where 8k will lock.

Any advice?

I will give the SheetCAM guys a call i guess. Plasma spider folks say some open and some just dont due to the way the software creates a dxf.

I have had the same issue. I was also told that DXF doesn’t really have a true standard.
Can you export it as a SVG file? I have had much better luck going that route.

Please upload a dxf file that locks Sheetcam

Could you post one of the problem files. I would really like to see what is going on.

Thanks team. I will give a shot to upload one. My machine PC is off line and i will pull the file into the house apple…

I did do the trick of importing SVG files and I have corrected 80% of this issue. Thanks a ton for thay advice.
