I am trying to set up a part in SheetCam with two profile cuts. When I attempt to create a Profile cut I get the following error message. This happens with both profile cuts.
No paths were generated. The tool may be too big or there may be a problem with the drawing. Some features were too small to machine.
The tool is a 1/2 end mill, .500 diameter.
I completely redisigned the part, but still get the same message. The pocket cut works fine. The two profile cuts in the attached DXF file are
OutsideProfile and UpperProfile.
Any help with identifying the source of this problem would be greatly appreciated.
I just checked the drawing and I can’t see anything obviously wrong. Could you post the job file (file->save job) with the profile cuts set up so I can see exactly what settings you are using.
Hmm, that is strange. I can’t find anything wrong. I loaded the job and all of the tool paths were generated correctly. What version of SheetCam are you using? (look in Help->about)
Curiouser and curiouser. I see the fault if I load your job in V6.0.2 but if I load the drawing into that version after loading your job it then works correctly. I have attached the job file. Could you tell me what settings you have in Options->system parameters.
The V6.x series is now very old and has been discontinued for several years so I can’t release a fix. I can offer you a cheap upgrade to SheetCam TNG if you email me your license name.
I attempted to do an install of the latest stable version of SC, but could not get it installed.
The OS is Windows XP Service Pack 6.
On the first attempt, I got a warning message that I needed to install Visual Basic C++ runtime, which I did (2010 version). Rebooted the system. The second attempt gave me the same message. As did all other attempts.
Any ideas on what may be happening here? I installed SC on another system and it installed fine, no warning message.
