Alphabetical Layer Sorting

When I am designing my parts in my CAD program, I name the layers with a prefix to help me machine everything in the correct order. For example, 1a Center Drill all holes, 1b Through Drill, 2a Mill Pocket, etc.

Occasionally, when I have a really complex part, I end up with a lot of layers. So, when I am instructing Sheetcam on each machining operation, scrolling down a long list of layers gets a bit painful. Having the layers sort alphabetically ( numbers first ) would be a real treat.

That is a good idea. It shouldn’t be too hard to add. I’ll see what I can do.

Do you think alphabetical layer sorting might be added any time soon ?

The development version of SheetCam has this.
