maybe this has been discussed already- i bought a cnc plasma machine that come with a computer already loaded with sheetcam & mach 3.
Recently i bought another cnc, this one is a router - after "tuning" the motors in mach 3 & setting steps per inch etc..
( i did set up a new profile in mach 3 for the new machine)
I tried some simple shapes to test the machine - the problem i'm having is, somewhere in the code, it wants to plunge the router down 1.5" when i was wanting .125 as the total cut depth.
I have zeroed the mill bit at the top of the work piece, set the material thickness, bit size- i have the plunge at 0 and yet it still has a glitch somewhere. It also wants to do a rapid movement before the mill bit is clear of the material, causing unwanted gouges in the material.
On the plasma side, it's set up with a floating head - so Z axis is not an issue. But the routing side has been a headache trying to get this right.
I'm semi new to these programs and could be user error, any & all help will be much appreciated.
