Can't install SheetCam on Ubuntu

Hello.

I was load SheetCamTNG_7.1.20 -1_amd64.deb. I was try install loaded on Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS. Installation was crashed and say next:
dpkg: package dependencies prevent customization of sheetcamtng package:
sheetcamtng depends on libreadline7, however:
The libreadline7 package is not installed.
sheetcamtng depends on libncurses5, however:
The libncurses5 package is not installed.
dpkg: error while processing package sheetcamtng (--install):
dependency issues - leave unconfigured

I was try install libreadline7 on Ubuntu, but it too crash.

The libreadline7 package is not available, but is listed in the dependency list of another
package. This may mean that the package is missing, out of date, or
available from sources not mentioned in sources.list

E: No installation candidate found for package 'libreadline7'

On my build version Ubuntu is installed libreadline8.

Advise what can be done?

Linux is a nightmare to support. Every new release breaks something. Libreadline in particular seems to change on every release. The Linux releases are mainly to support CandCNC's CNC-xf package which runs on Ubuntu 18.04.
Try running the Windows version of SheetCam under Wine. Wine seems to work around many of the compatibility issues.

You could try going back to an older version of Sheetcam. I never could get Sheetcam 7.1.20 to run on Ubuntu 20.04, but Sheetcam 6.1.57 runs just fine.

on Debian, I just install it from the previous release repository.

I did wonder if rebuilding the Deb and changing the dependency to 8 would get it to run without issue.

Maybe these will help. The libreadline7 DEB fixed it for me
