Newbie to Sheetcam Plz help

Post by paula wardan »

Im fairly new to using SheetCam and have cut a couple of items which have been fine and now all of a sudden we have an indentation and unsure why this is happening. Have changed the milling bit thinking it was that however we are still having the same issue. It is not occuring along the whole cut path rather the indent seems to be on the left. I have uploaded a pic of the issue and if you zoom in you would be able to see it. Can anyone please assist?

That looks like either your part is moving on the machine or your machine is losing steps. Try dropping your feed rate. Does that help? If it does, try reducing your acceleration.

Thanks for replying Les, I have tried to drop the feed rate but dosnt seem to help. It starts steeping on the 3rd cut & we are cutting 18mm mdf at 2mm deepth per pass. The only way that its not that obvious is If we cut it at 18mm In one cut & slow the feed rate to 300. Not sure if thats wise But.
Anything else we could try?

Try dropping the acceleration in motor tuning. This definitely looks like a motor tuning issue.
