i've been using an electric scriber and the ''plasma MP1000-THC post processor with engraver'' post aka mach3 thc with scriber post. it has been working fine with the exception of i need to manually enter M09 in the gcode to turn it off. i have since bought an air scriber and modified the air scribe mount.
i edited the scribe offsets in the post for the new air scribe mount, that is all i edited in the post. now when i scribe the torch comes down, touches off, moves to z offset, moves to the new xy offset and scribe turns on. scribe on also lowers the air slide mount. that is all good, but now the z axis moves up, maybe a half inch scribing a 3/8'' hole. so i scribe air now.
anyone have an idea of what went wrong? all i modified in the post was the scribe offsets.

scriber post
I have much the same thing happening. What is going on is the scriber will go to it's height, then the Z axis is moving to it's safe z height (slowly). Why it's doing that I don't know. If you make the safe z travel height the same as your scriber z height, then everything is cool. I'm using a different scriber post than you, but it's in the same family of posts.
Hopefully Les or somebody will have an explanation for us.

scriber post
i figured my scriber post had been corrupted, i reloaded the MP1000-THC - with scriber post renamed it MP1000-THC - scriberKJO.scpost put in my switch and axis offsets. i processed a simple 2 - 2'' (.5'' apart) line drawing and here is the gcode with my notes in [] nothing changed

Could you send me the job file so I can test this with all of the same settings you are using.
