RE: DXF Post

Post by 'Belli Button' belli@i... »

Hi Les,

Thank you for the wonderful work you do! I really like SheetCAM, I like it
a lot...

I've just discovered something. I use a contouring operation for my laser
with the DXF post but if I don't pay attention and there are two or more
passes then there is a duplicate layer of lines under each other (clear as
mud?) Would it be possible to output a .dxf that has only one pass (one
layer of lines) irrespective of the number of passes generated by the
toolpath? I can't think of a reason that you might ever want it any other
way (?).

Cheers,

Hi Belli,

Unfortunately it is very difficult to get around that. The post only
knows about the line/arc it is currently processing. It has no way of
knowing if that line/arc is duplicated elsewhere.

You mean that in future I just have to be more careful when generating a
tool path? I was really hoping I would have someone else to blame... ;-)

Cheers,
