Error “No holes were found”

Post by steelgoose »

About 2 updates ago of SheetCam I started receiving the Error “No holes were found” and SheetCam would no longer recognize my circles as holes for drilling.

After testing the issue appears that SheetCam no longer allows for tolerance of imported circles to be recognized as holes if it is not a perfect circle.

If the end points of an arch segment did not match up exactly SheetCam would not recognize it as a hole for drilling and responded with the Error message “No holes were found”, regardless what I set the tolerance parameter to. Perfect circles would work just fine regardless of segments.

That's odd. Could you supply me with a sample drawing so I can run some tests.

Test Files

Attached are files that I had previously used. The holes are on the Drill layer.

I found the problem. It only shows up if the arc is in segments and the segments do not follow on from each other in sequence in the dxf file. This happens for instance if each segment is clockwise but the segments appear in the file in a counter clockwise sequence.

I'll release an update later on today.

Bugs

Post by steelgoose »

Thanks Les,

Kill them bugs... aggravating little critters...

I will look forward to the update.

BTW, it would be nice to have buttons on a menu bar for things like "New Job, Import Drawing, Recent Drawing, etc." so that I wouldn't have to drop the menu each time for every new job.

Adding extra buttons is on the to-do list. Unfortunately the list is very long...

Lost Hole Fix

Post by steelgoose »

Hi Les,

When you released V5.1.32, you lost the "Hole Fix". It will no longer identify my circles for drilling.

Thanks,
Steve
