Opening File

I am new to SheetCam and am attempting to figure things out tho not very successfully. I have gotten a couple files to process and then cut correctly but am having troubles with others. Ok, first question, every time I open a DXF file in SC I am getting a pop up that says :
"You have opened a file of type DXF files with the Gcode input filter. Are you sure you meant to do this? Select 'No' to open the file with DXF filter."
I select no and it seems to work fine. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
EDIT: I figured this out. Was opening in GCode format rather than DXF
