Change speed in middle of operation?

I am using a waterjet machine and I would like to be able to change the speed in the middle of an operation. Some parts have important features that need a nice finish and other sections of the same part are less important and can have rougher finish.

It would save some time to be able to change the feed rate (maybe change the tool?) without having to start and stop the cut.

I suppose another way to do this would be to allow separate operations to run concurrently so that the start and stop cycle is left out.

Is there any way to do this?

Take a look at action points Mode->edit action points. You can place them like tabs but instead of changing the cut depth you can output code snippets or alter the feed rate.
