trying to figure out how to correct this
about half the time the torch will come down to touch the work and zero using the floating head switch.
sometimes it doesn't zero and the torch is too low when it begins to cut, fowling up the consumables
how do i ensure that for every cut it will set the z zero
z zero for each cut

Re: z zero for each cut
i believe it is in the post processor code, where do i find that feature and adjust it ?
curious is there a program out there that generates a post processor code based on the options you choose and machine specs?
the post processor code that came with my machine has been nothing but problems, trying to find a better way

It depends on the post. Go to Options->machine->post processor and click on the 'Edit post' button.
Usually this type of post will have a configuration section at the start. Look for a line something like this:
refDistance = 250
Set it to:
refDistance = 0
