Sheetcam unstable after windows 10 update
Sheetcam unstable after windows 10 update
Hello!
After an update of windows 10 Sheetcam has become unstable. It has become that bad that I can't write any g code before the program crashes.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? It it a setting somewhere or can I undo the update until the bug is fixed?
There are no messages. Just "Sheetcam has stopped working" and then it shuts down.
Hoping to hear form you.

Hello!
Short description:
Sheetcam works fine and does not crash whatever I'm doing in the program until I start adding toolpaths to the drawing.
Does this ring a bell? Both programs display drawings and both became unstable.
Someone any idea?

- Starting sheetcam, no problem.
Going trough all the menu's and tool setting, no problem.
Loading a DXF/SVG, no problem.
Adding toolpaths = Crash and shutdown.

This is almost undoubtedly a graphics driver issue. Do you know what make and model of graphics card your computer uses?
As a workaround you can try disabling graphics acceleration. Unfortunately in Win10 disabling graphics acceleration can be tricky depending on your graphics driver.
I am working on adding a software rendering option in SheetCam but it is proving difficult.

Hello Les!
I've been searching and found this:
http://windowsreport.com/opengl-problems-windows-10/
The first solution worked for me so far:
Solution 1 – Remove the display drivers reinstall the latest version
In order to remove the display drivers go to the Device Manager.
Find Display Adapters and click them to reveal the list of installed drivers.
Now you need to find the graphics card driver from the list, in most cases it will be the only item in the list, right click it, and the press Uninstall.
After the uninstall process is complete, you need to restart your computer.
Go to your graphic card manufacturer and find the latest drivers for your graphic card model.
Install the drivers, and see if the issue still persists.
When the problem returns i'l be back

I am just about to upload development version 6.1.29 which may solve this problem. In Options->application options->Display is a new option 'Disable hardware graphics acceleration'. The down side of this option is that the graphics will be slightly slower but unless you do really complex artistic work you probably won't notice the difference. Give it a try and let me know if it helps.
Any chance this version helps with the loss of overcut when leadin can't fit?
