Complicated add-on?

I had an idea that would be useful for those using SheetCam on a mill, or at least I can see a use for it.
The ability to draw a selection box around a feature of a path and duplicate it onto a new layer so it can be pre-processed etc. as well as using the box or marquee as part of the path to make it a normal closed path.
I have just done a job which used very small end mills for the finish pass but a couple of features were too small for the roughing cutter but too large for a finish pass in one hit and apart from duplicating the areas in CAD on a new layer, I could see no way of making the feature a separate entity so i could pre-finish just that one area with multiple passes of the finish tool and not have to run round the whole job at very low cut settings.
