Plate marking

Good morning all.
I have a 4 axis setup from CandCNC (servo DTHC iv ethercut) and was wondering if there is a plate marking (air operated engraver) or something similar to mark plate or eventually rotary jobs. In the post processor it does have the marker as part of the post. Any insights would be greatly received.

The post processor is set up to handle a plate marker. You need to make up some form of attachment for the marker and you need to use a spare output in Mach to trigger it. A common mounting setup is to use a small pneumatic slide that moves down when the marker is activated. This video demonstrates how it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ozsbYjIfv8

Good morning Les
In sheetcam is there a specific method of identifying which bits are to be cut as opposed to marked, and how do we do this?

Yes, put the scribe lines on a different layer. You can then set up a cut operation on that layer using the scribe tool.
By the way for decorative work you can get interesting effects using the pocketing operation.
