Any 150w+ metal cutting lasers out there?

I see on Sheetcam's "Features" page that the software supports use with lasers. Has anyone actually gone down this road? We have just acquired a circa-2001 Kern laser equipped with a 150w Coherent Inc laser module. It'd be trivial to upgrade the machine with Mach3 control of XYZ, all that need to control is air and the laser. (Possibly Z height following also.)
FWIW we already have an AvidCNC plasma cutter working fine using Mach3 and sheetcam.
... AND we see that there are packaged systems (laser head plus black-box control gear) available from China, in the $2K to $3K range.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. It's always easier to be the SECOND person going down a path like this.
