I am using uccnc with plasmasens/plasmasenseout and was wondering if there is a way to disable g28/g31 commands and just set the torch manually on the work piece, sheetcan will raise it xxx amount ans have thc control take over from there?

I dont have a floating z but have z control. So if i can disable the g28/g31 and just have thc take over after the arc ok signal would be superb.

What post processor are you using?

Mach 3 with thc and scriber. Unless there is a better one to use

Use the 'Mach3 plasma' post. It doesn't use a floating head.

And then edit the post for the thc commands? Any examples of it?

You don't need to edit the post. The Mach3 THC with scriber post does not have any other THC specific commands other than the referencing.

I was talking about the mach3 post. How can i get thc to work like my first post described? Just need thc to activate based on an input from the plasmasensout (up, down, ok). Basically i want to manually set z0 when i touch the work piece and sheetcam will bring it up xxx amount, then once it starts to cut have thc take over

Sorry I wasn't very clear. Most of the THC operation is automatic and does not need to be controlled from the post. The only thing different the THC posts do is the referencing. As you don't want referencing the 'Mach3 plasma' post will do what you want.

That makes sense. Last time I believe I tried that, the torch just turned on and didnt move. But ill play with it again.
