Post Processor for Flashcut Version 8

Post by Fabricator909 »

Is the Post Processor that is in sheet cam that is listed for Flashcut compatible with version 8? This is the newest version of the software, not sure how the thc on/off would work going from Candcnc to flashcut.
Thanks,
Derrick

Flashcut is very configurable so it does depend rather on how it is set up. Let me know if none of the Flashcut posts work for you. As far as THC on/off is concerned you will need to check with your Flashcut configuration. I'm not familiar with how THC works with Flashcut.

Or i could use the post processor to output a .DXF and let flashcut to the CAM work. I think that would be best. I tried the current DXF and it doesn't work.

M106 is the fabrication head command. which im assuming is amps and pressure.

G602/G603 are THC commands.

Sorry for the delay. Give this a try. To install this post, save the attachment to any convenient folder on your computer then run SheetCam and go to Options->machine->post processor. Click on the 'Import post' button. Using the box that appears, navigate to your post and open it. Go back to Options->machine->post processor and make sure your post is selected.

Les,
Just tried this out. Only thing I can see that is missing is the machine doesn't move to 0,0 after cutting the last piece.
Sheetcam didn't change the volts and amps in flashcut, however you can do this in the flashcut cam.
Thanks,
Derrick

I am still get a list of errors when i bring in gcode "the specified M code has not been assigned" and they all point to an M67 for dhtc off. I assume something is setup wrong in sheet cam from past uses??

M67 E0 Q10 (DTHC OFF)

Is the highlighted line i get taken to for the errors.

I also see that the cut values do not change.

Thanks all.

I normally recommend that you use the parking position in Options->job options->parking. That way you have full control over what happens. However if you always want it to move to 0,0 I can change the post.

That looks like an issue with the code snippets for your path rules. I believe the codes for THC on and off are G602 and G603.

Josh,
You might have to call Flashcut and have them upgrade your license to allow external g-code. I know I did with mine and it threw a bunch of errors before hand.

Les,
I'll try the parking feature, worst case, ill have you change the post. I still need to run some more jobs and see if everything is on the up and up.
