I am COMPLETELY NEW to the CNC machine and I am having trouble getting my wood router bit to lower to the wood to make the cuts. I have set up a 1/4" Flute tool with a 0" offset in the tool definition. I generate the g-code for the job but when I run it in Mach3 the machine will not keep my Z axis set at the height I have it zeroed out at. Every time I click cycle start in Mach3 it raises the bit to about half an inch above the material and runs through the cut. Do I have something set wrong in Sheetcam or is it something I have wrong in Mach3? Thank you for any help!

Re: Router bit raises instead of lowers
which post processor are you using?
are you using a tool number?

Re: Router bit raises instead of lowers
Thank you Rob for replying. It turns out my floating head was calibrated to the wrong height and I was still in the plasma post processor.

Re: Router bit raises instead of lowers
check all your axis are moving in the right direction.....
normally z+ is upward and z- is downward
X+ is to your right
X- is to your left
Y+ is away from you
Y- is towards you
