inserting cutpaths manually

Post by cohippy »

see attached image....

sheetcam needs to implement their own autonesting and not use a subscription based one and a way to insert cutpaths for rem cutoff....cant ever get the option for rem cutoff under job options to work correctly....

I agree with both of these! LOl The current remnant cutoff works, but takes some tweaking and is less than ideal. I'll usually just draw the cutoff line, and import it as a different layer.

I would be SUPER excited for Sheetcam to implement true part nesting. The ability to import a .part file (complete with internal-contour toolpaths saved), and nest that part would be amazing. Not a fan of the current plugin options. MyNesting/NestFab won't do open profile cuts, which is a lot of what I do with plasma for detail.

I have some ideas about auto nesting but they are pretty preliminary at the moment. It's not an easy task.
You can manually insert cut paths. The move operation (Operation->move to) allows you to create rapid and staight line cut moves.
