what would need to happen to get true shape nesting?

I feel true shape nesting is all that Sheetcam really lacks. That"s the one area that the "process" guys (ie, CorelDraw to Sheetcam to LinuxCNC) can t compare with the all-in-one guys (PlasmaCam, Flashcut, etc).
What would need to happenin order have it integrated into Sheetcam (vs the plug in band-aids offered now)?
