Post not opening in Torchmate

Post by Hondub »

I'm using Sheetcam to output g-code for my Torchmate plasma table. I'm running Torchmate 4 software. I have tried all 4 Torchmate posts and when I open the file in Torchmate there is no g-code. Any ideas why or how to get my parts to work?

In SheetCam turn on View->Code editor. Now run the post processor. Do you get any sensible looking code?

Does anything at all show up in the gcode box in the Torchmate software?

It sounds like your Torchmate 4 software does not like the g-code that the Sheetcam posts are putting out. I don't suppose you have a g-code file that the Torchmate 4 software does like that you can compare to the un-liked g code to see what the difference is? You should be able to open the g-code files with a regular notepad type editor to look at them.

Torchmate will turn my .DXF files into g-code when I import. I could compare with a drawing I have to one I have put in Sheetcam. Based off of this though, is Sheetcam just not the program for me?

The posts make SheetCam pretty flexible as far as gcode output. If you have a working code file, you should be able to get SheetCam to output similar code with the right post processor.

I guess I didn't look close enough in the code editor. Sheetcam is not putting out a g-code under any of the Torchmate posts. This is all I get once I run the post processor.

N0010 (Filename: Base.dxf)
N0020 (Post processor: Torchmate plasma.scpost)
N0030 (Date: 08/03/2018)
N0040 G20 (Units: Inches)
N0050 G53 G90 G40 F1
N0060 M05 M30

The part I used is an 8" square with 16 3/4" evenly spaced holes in it. Pretty simple part.

Do you have an operation programmed and the proper layer selected? I get code just like that when I forget to add an operation.

I have done my tool path. Is that what you mean by operation?

Do you see the green tool paths in SheetCam? If not you probably don't have a cut operation set up or there is a problem with that operation. If you are new to SheetCam, Arclight Dynamics do a really good video tutorial series on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcJ7QNc ... jY0vAIu14I

It could be a license problem. Could you send me your license serial number. You can find it in Help->about.
