sizing issues

Post by caper150 »

I have been having issues lately getting sizing right. Usually I just do art work so I wasn't too concerned. Im trying to cut a hub plate and the gentleman sent me a dxf file on it was way to large. I had a friend redraw it using his torchmate program I tried cutting it and its a 1/4" off. I watched him draw it and he had sizes right in the drawing. I have everything in sheetcam set to inches to cut this but I'm off that 1/4" what is the issue here.

You don't say what type of machine you are using to cut with, but maybe your motor tuning is a little bit off.

Do the dimensions look correct in SheetCam? Use the measure tool (right-clcik->measure) to check.
When you import a drawing a box appears with a number of options. What is the scale set to? In the case of the very large drawing it should probably be set to metric. For the Torchmat drawign it should probably be set to inches.
