PLATE MARKING Question

Post by Jose Maria Garcia »

Hi there guys,

What would be the best way to mark on a plate, the center of (250)
1/4"(7mm)diameter holes, to be hand drilled later? Could you give me a step
by step help?

Thanks,

Jose

PLATE MARKING Question

Post by Les Newell »

Hi Jose,

I assume you are using a plasma cutter. Do you have a plate marker or do
you want to mark the holes with your plasma?

In SheetCam create a drilling operation. Select your tool and the layer
with the holes on and set the min and max hole sizes. only circles
between these two sizes will be marked.

If it appears to work on simulation but doesn't work when you post
process it could be that your post doesn't support this. It is
relatively easy to fix this.

PLATE MARKING Question

Post by Jose Maria Garcia »

Hi Les,

Thank you for your fast response, and Yes, I am using a plasma cutter.

I followed a youtube video that directs you to put poits instead of holes for marking, is this correct? and yes it looks like it works on the simulation and not when post.

Regards,

Jose

You can use points if you prefer but the problem is in the post. I have attached a fixed post that should work.

Save the file to any convenient folder on your computer then run SheetCam and go to Options->machine->post processor. Click on the 'import post' button. Using teh box that appears, navigate to the post and open it.
