Rapids are 500ipm, which is recommended by manufacturer (Bulltear / Star Lab). I ran the simulation at 10k FRO. Time was given as 59 minutes (job took almost exactly an hour in reality). 5k FRO shows 51 min, 1k FRO shows 44 minutes. So, the closer to 100% feed rate in the simulation, the farther the...

Accurate time in sheetcam job report?

I'm trying to figure out how to get an accurate cut time from the sheetcam job report. I typically only use the sq inches/cut inches/pierces aspect. However, I've had a couple of customer-supplied-material jobs, which were a straight hourly rate. I used the sheetcam job report to estimate job times ...

Can scan anything save partial traces, or things that error

I'm tracing some large designs with Scananything. I'm getting "edge tracing failed" messages in various locations. I'm not quite sure why. I've traced the designs on clean paper with a solid black felt tip pen, etc. More to my question...can Scan anything be made to save these paths that e...

Love this! Had to babysit a 1/2" sheet earlier this week, making sure the torch didn't end up in the slag pile as it moved out of the pierce. Looking forward to trying it out! Thanks!

Thanks Les. The Scananything port is the last of my mental roadblocks keeping me from upgrading. I'll make plans to upgrade the system in the first couple weeks of January, then.

Scananything for linux/CommandCNC?

I'm currently running CandCNC Bladerunner Ethercut DTHCIV system. I'm interested in moving to the linux/CommandCNC system. I'm curious if there is a version of Scananything that works with the CandCNC offering. If not, is there an ETA for such a critter? I currently use Scananything on my Mach based...

Minimum hole size for rules to be executed?

I've noticed that when I'm (plasma) cutting smaller holes (smaller than 1/4", though I haven't found the exact cutoff size) that my hole rules will be ignored. I first noticed this when I had some irregular cuts on some control panels being cut. Checking sheetcam, I noticed that my holes were s...

You shouldn't have any issues with overlapping rules. If you have overlapping rules the one with the lowest feed rate wins.
Great to know! Thanks for clearing that up!

Re: Path rules for different diameters

Hi. Hypertherm use a interesting algorithm for cutting. So depending on sheet metal thickness the cutting speeds are different for different diametres: up to 6 mm 40% of normal speed 6 to 18 mm 60% of normal speed 18 to 36 mm 80% of normal speed more than 36 mm - normal speed Can be there a small m...
