Bug in Quick Cut Sequence
Hi Les, I found a bug when running the Quick Cut Sequence. Job file attached to illustrate this issue. In the attached file, the top right of each letter K is lower than the top right. As a result there is a small gap between the top of the K and the outer rectangle, i.e. this part of the K is not a...

Re: Scale part after operation applied
And I'm guessing implementing independent XY scaling in Sheetcam while maintaining operation settings, etc, would not be a simple feature to implement.

Re: Scale part after operation applied
Thanks for that info, but I could not get it to work. Example, I exported a DXF from Coreldraw, and imported that into Sheetcam. Set up custom cut order and pierce locations using "Quick Cut Sequence". Save job. Close Sheetcam Open the DXF in Qcad and scale up, then Save (not Save As) Open...

Scale part after operation applied
Thought a feature like this could come in handy, but no idea if it's a doddle or a nightmare to implement. Having the ability to tweak the X and Y size of a part after you've done all your leading types, positions, cut order, etc, could be a big time saver. I know you can enter a general proportiona...

Stick,
Les asked for a copy of the post processor, but you send the gcode instead.
If you send a copy of the post processor Les may be able to do a modification so it generates the gcode you need.

Re: Going nuts over "Open paths" that are not actually open...
I'm sorry but I have no idea at what point the double / overlapping outlines were created. Exactly what steps were involved. Example what software did you create the 2d drawing, and what happened from that point onwards. If there were several softwares involved then perhaps post the "output&quo...

Re: Going nuts over "Open paths" that are not actually open...
I imported your DXF into Coreldraw and the first thing I noticed is there were 3 objects. There was a small vertical line inside, then the outside was actually one object laid directly on top of another object. When I zoomed in I could see one of the outside objects was smooth, while the other one w...

Re: entityClosed nd OnNewEntity explanation
HI just worry about what i say sometimes because i certainly do have the "too much" gene in me. I certainly agree with what you said though, but i think it expands to more than just CNC. The technical side of a lot of things has died off immensely. Everyone not just wants, but expects ins...

Re: How to count all parts?
In addition to what David suggested there is a post processor function "OnNewPart()".
You could use that to increment a custom variable.
Of course you are getting into post processor modification / programming and Davids method is easier.

Re: entityClosed nd OnNewEntity explanation
Hi David, thanks for that info David. I actually broke my own rules and asked the question before running through the Sheetcam post documentation. Just opened my file and there is the variable listed. And yes, that's exactly what I'd do regarding combination tests of variables, example pseudocode: i...

Re: entityClosed nd OnNewEntity explanation
Les, is there any way to check for leadins in the post ? Personally I've never had a leadin / leadout on an open path, so if I can check for leadins/outs on a path, I can assume the path is a closed one with leadins/outs applied. Of course the ideal way would be to be able to check if the path was a...

Re: Qtplasmac - every operation is spotting.
Hi Les, I managed to get some good gcode with a workaround but am wondering if this has revealed a bug in Sheetcam. When I got all operation producing spotting, I was using the same tool for the DRILL operation on the holes, and the PLASMA operation on the square. So I simply copied and pasted this ...

Qtplasmac - every operation is spotting.
Hi Les, I've turned to the dark side (Linuxcnc) and am trying to produce my first gcode file with "spotting". The part is a simple 100mm square with four 10mm holes inside. Put the holes on a separate layer called HOLES. Made two operations, the first one to spot the holes, and the 2nd one...
