Re: Says report bug and cutter wobbles at end of part

Whenever I get the message about the paths not being generated correctly, it's normally a bad file I imported. Things like crossed lines, loops in the line, or even tiny separate lines/shapes. Most of the time they are extremely small and you have to really zoom in to find them, but they are there. ...

Re: Plasma THC preset voltage

How does the THC know what so set as nominal voltage if it's not specified in the G-code? Depends on the type of THC. Many THCs are completely external to the controller (Mach3, etc) and thus the voltage is set on the THC itself. Some THCs are built into the controller and you can set on the screen...

What system are you using. I haven't noticed you specify that yet.

Post processor "entityClosed" always returning zero

Hi Les, I've been at this several hours trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Could you give me some guidance on how to use the Sheetcam variable "entityClosed". I believe this is supposed to test whether the next path is open or closed. Variable is 1 if path is closed and 0 if path i...

Re: How to add M1 after each part

Thanks Wyogreen, that would do for just a few parts but was looking for something a little more "automated" if for example I brought in a single nested "part" then used "Break Up Manually Nested Drawing" to make each shape a separate part in Sheetcam. I'll look into the...

How to add M1 after each part

Hi Les, when plasma cutting parts with tip up risk, it can be useful to put M1 at the end of SafeZ after a cut. The gcode stops and if all is well the operator simply presses Cycle Start and the cut continues. Or if the part tipped up, pick it out, then press Cycle Start. I can easily insert M1 in t...

Re: Torch not stopping before end of cut

Cheers Rob,

armed with that new knowledge that I need the Mesa cards too, I might just hold off for a while. Had a lot of outgoings lately. Can't do much experimenting with a black screen

Might check out the simulator though.

Re: Torch not stopping before end of cut

I hope I'm wrong.... I really genuinely do.... I see you got replies.... proof of the pudding is in the eating.... see what they release.... (wonder how soon though... just watch and wait) I'm back dabbling with linuxcnc (path pilot) for a lathe .... see what happens. for my needs (plasma) uccnc do...

Re: Torch not stopping before end of cut

Thanks for the reply Rob. I'm starting to wonder if you are right. This thread: https://www.forum.cncdrive.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2083 which I started one and a half years ago to get a very simply software fix done to the UCR201 hand pendant plugin, has not had a solution so far. Just had words...

Re: Torch not stopping before end of cut

uccnc has proved good..... but with covid they have been slow (non existent) with development since Feb 2020 Rob, is it fair to say they have been non existent with development. Have you heard from a reliable source that they have done zero development from February. Dezsoe claims UCCNC is still un...

Re: What bugs you the most in SheetCam?

"Break Up Manually Nested Drawing" changes the cut order. I prefer to nest parts in Coreldraw instead of in Sheetcam, so I'll export the nested parts from CD as a single file, and import into Sheetcam as a single part. I create any needed layers and operations, place start positions and cr...

Re: Academic question on calculating arc length.

curiosity has got me Keith, what are you experimenting with? Hi Rob, you know the THC that I designed. It's another feature I'd like to add to that. If you got a flameout during a cut, the system would either automatically or upon a button press (depending on setting), reverse along the cut path a ...

Re: Academic question on calculating arc length.

Thanks a bunch Les. That was really hurting my head for a few minutes until something clicked when you said, "If you are using degrees........" So then I thought is Les using those Radian thingies (you see the mathematician in me  ). So I check out Google and find there are pi radians...
