Les, thanks very much for the insight, it's great I now understand a little more. Nope, wouldn't change a thing, but it now explains why the onmove() functions look the way they do with the z axis motion. So all you are doing is a series of cuts on one axis, and indexing an a axis by a number of steps, and then maybe a finishing cut along the same lines?

Which post processor are you using?

If you use one with mach3 THC then they have the option for g28.1 or g31 touch off probing built in.

Otherwise you can add it to the post processor by editing it, under pendown() I think it is.

What post processor are you using, and what tool number have you created for your plasma, can you take some screenshots of your sheetcam tool settings (I use greenshot to take screenshots)
