In hindsight it may be useful to have a muppets guide to all of the sold plugins within the manual, as I do try to look up the manual and see if its been updated from time to time. I know I have the rotary, knife and v-carve, and have yet to get on to using the other two, hence sure they will throw ...

Thanks Les very much, I'll give it a go this evening. (would be nice to have a muppets guide to rotary in the manual, I know time is short, wish lists long, on a side note, thanks very much for the center pierce to small radius circles recently added to the development version v30 I think cheers) Rob

I did think that an easy fix would be to subtract the 1/2 the PipeDiameter variable from the Z-axis within the post processor, but then I wondered about what to do with rectangular / square section tube where the z-axis offset varies dependant upon A-axis movement. I am not likely to do I beam or th...

Rotary Plasma

Les (or anyone else who knows or can explain) Rotary Plasma, Z offset... After OnInt() The first motion of the seems to retract the Z axis 1/2 the tube diameter + the clearance distance (my rapid clearance is 10mm, and my tube is 42.4mm OD, and the Z retracts 31.2mm) Any reason for the Z axis retrac...

Just to close this one out No idea why it happened, as I updated the laptop and the rotary plugin did not appear (updated via the popup window, new version avail, etc). Took memory stick to garage (actual machine is offline, no antivirus etc, just mach + scam), and installed over the top of the deve...

Are you using the m03 macros that came with the minithc? Note Denis included a sheetcam post-processor with the mini THC too. Are you using g28.1 or g31 to do your touchoff? There are several post processors that I have got to work with mach3 and THC in general, you will need to edit the settings th...

caper150 Has this one died a death or are you still looking for help? (not get much foot traffic in this forum) If you're after the help, besides the Hypertherm, and the G540, what other gear do you have? Do you have torch height control? (hence the CandCNC question by Steve) Have you got a photo of...

Les, thanks very much for the insight, it's great I now understand a little more. Nope, wouldn't change a thing, but it now explains why the onmove() functions look the way they do with the z axis motion. For me it's a hobby, and I'm happy to tinker and learn post-processors, lua, m3, m4 etc Thanks ...

Will the tool match the spline profile?

So all you are doing is a series of cuts on one axis, and indexing an a axis by a number of steps, and then maybe a finishing cut along the same lines?

Sure you could write a post processor for that

Postprocessor questions - sequence of events

Hello, I've been having a look at a few post processors, and was wondering with regards to plasma and THC what the sequence of function calls was likely to be by sheetcam as it seems some post processors seem to call some events differently and hence the events are within different functions. Is the...

Which post processor are you using?

If you use one with mach3 THC then they have the option for g28.1 or g31 touch off probing built in.

Otherwise you can add it to the post processor by editing it, under pendown() I think it is.

What post processor are you using, and what tool number have you created for your plasma, can you take some screenshots of your sheetcam tool settings (I use greenshot to take screenshots)
