Re: SheetCam sometimes hangs on startup in Ubuntu
I've had this happen to me too. I'll get the opening splash screen, then a message box opens up behind it (obviously the splash screen is set to be always on top). I can't read what the message box says because of the splash screen, but if I guesstimate where the close button would be on the message...

Re: Plasma Cutting and Engraving on same part - University Capstone Project
There are a couple of ways you could do this without much trouble. One way would be to use a Hypertherm 45XP, which has a marking function built-in. Another way would be to use a scribe mounted offset from the torch (the offset location is set in the post). Then it's just a matter of changing operat...

Re: sheetcam processor for crossfire pro
I read up on your machine. It appears there are 2 different operating systems for it. One is the Mach3 system, and then the other is FireControl. So we'll need to know what program you are using.

Re: dxf import no layers
So your layer names are showing up as "colors"? I seem to remember there is an option to use "colors" for the layer names. When you import the drawing, there is a check box to "use colour names as layer names"

Re: New Tool voltages
It's been a while since I set up my tool table, but if I remember right, you can't add/change the values in the tool table directly. Instead you have to make a new tool by choosing "Create a new Jet cutting tool" in the "Tools" menu.

Re: Vector Curve No end Points get processor error cutting
This has been the subject of a thread on here before, I'm just having trouble remembering what all was said. It seems like there was a problem, and there is a workaround for it. I'm under the impression it should have been fixed by now. At any rate, as far as I can remember, there is an option chang...

Re: New Feature Suggestions - Scale and DXF Text
David, When I first started out in the CNC world I was using a program called CamBam. In turn, someone developed simple fonts for it called "CamBam stick fonts", which were simple single line fonts. These fonts worked well for my CNC sign routing that I was doing at the time. You might do ...

Re: Scanything
I think rob's right on his diagnosis. When I played with this a long time back, that was the problem I had. After rotating the camera 180 degrees, everything worked fine.

Are they perhaps 2 different levels and you need to make an operation for each level?

Re: Nested comment found, Block=N0020
It's been a while since I've dealt with .tap files, but if I remember right, the N0020 refers to the line number the error was on.

Re: Radio button in Ubuntu
In Ubuntu you have a choice of "styles". Some styles will show the buttons, some will not. I had the same problem, and fixed it by opening the "Appearance" app in the Whisker menu, then changed the style from the default "Grey Bird" to something else, such as "Numi...

Re: center pierce holes help?
I just did this a few weeks ago on my CandCNC (CommandCNC) system, so I know it works. I did it with the CandCNC rev27 post. I use a HT45 Plasma cutter and turned down the amperage to 30 amps to mark the holes, then back to 45 amps to cut the part out. I put a pause in the job to turn the amps back ...
