Re: Rapid movement?
Roy, can you attach a copy of your JOB file and your post processor file. You can find your post processor files in one of two different places: C:\Program Files (x86) \ SheetCam TNG \ Posts and in Sheetcam go to the help menu, click on "Open Settings Folder" and open the "posts"...

Re: Post processor "how to" problem.
A big thanks to both of you. After I first posted I actually did find an old Candcnc post processor that did what I wanted BUT knowledge is always something I'm hungry for. I used the short piece of code in Les post and that did the trick. Up until your replies I did not really understand the Onrapi...

Post processor "how to" problem.
Hi Les (or anyone else who can help), I've been modifying an old Mach3 plasma post processor but cannot for the life of me find out how to get it to stop putting the Z pierce height at an unwanted location in the code. I basically need: 1. Go to Safe Z 2. Rapid to pierce location 3. Touch off 4. Rai...

Re: Arc instead of corner
Hi Rod, I think G64 has a more appropriate name in Lcnc - "Path Blending". I've always heard it called "Constant Velocity Mode", but path blending is a more accurate description. Just out of curiosity, can you enter the G64 parameters on screen in Lcnc or is it only in gcode. In ...

Re: Arc instead of corner
I ran your gcode in my cnc program and it worked fine. No rounding of corners.
My guess is this is the settings in your cnc controller, not a Sheetcam problem.

Re: Rules for THC On and THC Off
On the occasion of the UCCNC I will give a link and only say that they have codes that work in sync really BUT they MUST BE ACTIVATED AT THE PRESENT TIME OF THE G CODE !!! If I had a simple straight line 100mm long and I used Path Rules to insert M205 (THC on) 10mm after the start, and M206 (THC of...

Re: Rules for THC On and THC Off
Sounds like you did not like something I said. And no, I'm certainly not Les secretary, I'm not cute enough. You say I do not know Mach3 or UCCNC deeply. That's very interesting coming from you who said: you know that such a CNC does not really exist [/i][/b] when indeed there is. Seems like you do ...

Re: Rules for THC On and THC Off
Both Mach3 and UCCNC have this functionality built in. No doubt there'll be other CNC controller software that also has this functionality. Just because it MAY be possible for Les to do it in Sheetcam does not mean it is worth his while. This is the first time I have seen someone requesting this fun...

Re: Any way to bring up a custom message box via post processor
Thanks Les,
that is absolutely magic. That really baked my biscuit.
Can't believe I've had Sheetcam all these years and never delved into variables.

Any way to bring up a custom message box via post processor
Hi Les, is there any way to have a custom messagebox displayed on screen during post processing, if a specific condition is found. Example, something like this (I just made up "post.Messagebox"): if (Var > 10) then post.Messagebox("Your Var is greater than 10, post processing aborted&...

Re: Scanything calibration
There are often problems if you use an external USB or Ethernet controller with Scanything. Hi Les, I see Scanything also works with Edingcnc. They have recently brought out a new small board CNC310, which has an ethernet connection. Would this one be OK with Scanything or does what you say still a...

Re: Path Rules - insert code before M3
Thanks again lads.
Yes I've already tried that yesterday and works good, but just wondered if there was anything I was missing in the Path Rules, that would have made it simpler and more convenient.
I have a way of over complicating things so trying to change my ways

Path Rules - insert code before M3
Hi Les,
do we have any way for path rules to insert a code snippet BEFORE M3.
Unless I've missed it, I can't see a way to do this with the available Path Rules.

Re: Starts points placements
Les, would it be much work to add this as a new feature to Sheetcam, i.e. having a tickbox/option to enable using using the start/end points of the curves on the imported drawing as the start/pierce points in Sheetcam. Indeed there have been many times when I could have used this feature. Nesting in...
