Re: Path Rules and Code Snippets
John This guy ErikMc says his path rule code snippets are put BEFORE M3 so I asked him a couple of times what post processor he is using: https://www.forum.cncdrive.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=948&start=20 He says it's a post Les made for him. I've asked him to upload his post but don't know if...

Re: Path rule bug (on inside corners) ???
I could add a 'exclude corner arcs' check box. That way older rule sets would still behave the same way as they always did until you select that check box. Les, any rough idea on when you might get that tick box added. I have a big cut coming up where I have bend relief arcs and I wish to slow the ...

Can a Path Rule insert code before M3 ??
Les, can a Path Rule insert code BEFORE M3. Every time I've used "On Start", or "On Leadin", or "Near Pierce", it puts code AFTER M3. I know I can put a code snippet before M3 with conditional post processing but in some cases a Path Rule is much more selective and easi...

Re: Path rule bug (on inside corners) ???
Aah so that's how it works, thanks very much Les, I would never have guessed that. This info is getting archived. Regarding the "On Arcs" rule being applied to outside corners, if say I had a 270 degree small arc in my drawing with internal kerf offset and I wanted to apply an On Arcs cut ...

Re: Path rule bug (on inside corners) ???
OK, I >>THINK<< I understand that. So an inside corner is any corner less than 180 degrees. This causes a sharp change in direction of the tool. On the contrary an outside corner is any angle greater than 180 degrees and therefore the tool rolls around the corner. And therefore on an "inside of...

Saving / backing up Path Rules
Do we have any way to back up Path Rules so on a new install of Sheetcam we don't have to write them all over again ?

Path rule bug (on inside corners) ???
Hi Les, having a problem with one of the path rules (on inside corners). I drew a shape in cad to have two 45 degree angles, a 90 degree angle, an angle less than 45 degrees, and an angle greater than 90 degrees. I also gave the shape perpendicular/90 degree leadin/leadout. I created a rule On Insid...

Re: Loop inner corners
.........when trying it on the plasma cutter it just seems to mess up the angularity of the cut. I don't find it very useful for the plasma cutter. /Björn I'm surprised to hear that. I find that with a normal inside cut, the trailing jet of the plasma is transferred just after the corner and it tak...

Re: Loop inner corners
Just did a quick Google for cam and dogbones on inner corners. One result was this: http://blog.inventables.com/2014/06/learn-about-milling-inside-corner.html That describes dog bones and T-bones too. For plasma cutting a useful complimentary feature may be a path tool dedicated to these dog bones s...

Re: Loop inner corners
I think it's a useful and practical feature. I've had times when I modified the internal corners in cad for this reason but that's a pain.

Re: Rapid movement?
Hi Roy, I'm a plasma cutting guy so have never done any milling using Sheetcam, but I'll give my interpretation of what's happening. I used your job file and post processor to generate the gcode and this is what I got. I'll put comments in some lines: N0120 G00 Z39.0000 (4mm SafeZ height - you have ...
