Corel File

Hi Les,
That's great getting the corner chamfering problem sorted.

Just tried a quick file from Corel R11 dxf and so far looks good, but other dxf formats from corel seem to freeze and lock up sheetcam on mine, TNG loads them fine though.

Thanks

Do you create a bunch of tools and save as a template? Load that template prior to starting a job?
It's only a screenshot from the tools table editor.
It's just made up from adding tools using that numbering order.

Umm maybe pushing it a bit there with burning a 5mm hole in in 6mm sheet, I quite often cut a 9mm dia in 8mm thick and open up to 10mm though, just using dormer hss bits, maybe that's how I get though a few consumables  Try plasmatech.co.uk , not genuine hypertherm but seem to last just as well...

Hi Miro, I dunno I would rather sharpen the odd drill bit than start from scratch centre punching and working up to a 10mm hole, I normally plasma 1mm under finished size and open up with drill for more precise jobs, right speed a decent bit and some cutting lube and it's not much bother really. No problem, I see what you mean. On a side note to that, I have had 'use default toolset ticked' does that apply to rules as well? If that's the case that explains why some older jobs can't find there rules after I renamed them all :D I've since gone back to saving toolset with job option. Cheers Sean

Did it again today, loaded a saved part to a different sheet and missed adding the rules that were with the original part on the last sheet, did you have any thoughts on this Les?

Cheers

Save path rules with part?

Would it be possible to have path rules saved with the the part?
The operation on the part saves but with no path rules, it would be useful.

Thanks

Thanks Dave, I didn't realise that.
The pause at end is after the torch is off, it allows the flame to go out fully before moving

I haven't tried it,,,but you would think adding a time in 'pause at end of cut' in the tool would do that ok.

Have you got the max acceleration out of your z motor as well, that might shave some off.

If it's thin material I have seen it mentioned about using same pierce height as cut height.

Tabs

Not sure if this is your problem but it certainly wont help.
If you use the clear all button to clear the tabs that will help.

It's a bit fine detail to start cutting with if you are at that stage, try something easier to kick off with when you do start cutting,,,,

I have had good results using Solidworks for dxf, best way I have found even if you only want a simple 2d file is to draw the shape and extrude boss/base to give it a thickness.
Then right click on the face and select export to dxf/dwg, select file name/location, then just press enter.

Really nice work, you did well there, you like tabs as well for bending, they are great for some jobs.
Thanks for sharing.
